Information collected automatically

When you visit fisherandfarmer.com, certain information is collected automatically depending on your consent choices:

Always collected (no consent required):

Our editorial analytics are powered by Ghost's built-in system (via Tinybird). This is entirely cookie-free and first-party. It records page views, referral sources, and whether a visitor is a logged-in member, but it does not use cookies, browser fingerprinting, or any persistent storage to identify you across sessions. Unique visitors are counted within 24-hour windows only. All data is stored in EU data centres and is accessible only to Fisher & Farmer.

Collected with your consent:

If you accept analytics cookies via our consent banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-LC42PH1GF6) to understand traffic patterns, content performance, and how readers move between editorial content and our shop. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to distinguish between visitors and sessions. We have configured it as follows:

  • Google Signals is turned off (no cross-device tracking via Google accounts)
  • Data retention is set to 14 months
  • IP addresses are anonymised by default in GA4

If you accept marketing cookies, we may in future use Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. This is not currently active but will be disclosed here before it is enabled.
